This term, Room 6 has been reaching for the stars as we explored our exciting Earth and Space Science unit. We began by investigating the Sun and how it was used in ancient times to tell time using sundials. Of course, we couldn’t miss the chance to create our own sundials and observe how the shadows moved throughout the day to mark the time. We also explored how shadows change—stretching, shrinking, or shifting—depending on the Sun’s position and the direction we’re facing. Our journey continued with a deep dive into the phases of the Moon.

We created a beautiful classroom display showcasing each phase and what it represents—and we were even lucky enough to witness a Strawberry Moon during our investigations!

To finish off our learning, we brought all our new knowledge and creativity together to deliver an engaging assembly. The students were outstanding, confidently sharing their expertise and putting on an absolute show!
